Art has never been about filling empty walls.
For me, it begins with a question.
Sometimes that question is about identity. Sometimes it is about memory, belonging, or the quiet moments that shape who we become. Other times it is simply curiosity, a desire to understand the world a little more deeply than I did yesterday.
Petey Art was born from that curiosity.
Every piece begins long before paint touches canvas. It starts with observation: the way light falls across a room, the rhythm of conversation, the geometry found in nature, or a story carried across generations. These moments become sketches, ideas, and eventually works of art that invite others to pause and see the familiar in a new way.
As an artist originally from Zimbabwe and now living in Canada, my work is shaped by movement between cultures, landscapes, and experiences. Those influences find their way into every collection not as literal representations, but as layers of memory, symbolism, and emotion.
I believe art should do more than decorate a space.
It should start conversations.
It should inspire curiosity.
It should remind us of who we are and encourage us to imagine who we might become.
Whether you're here to discover a piece for your home, learn more about the creative process, or simply enjoy the journey, thank you for being here.
This journal will be a place to share the stories behind the artwork, explore the ideas that inspire each collection, and reflect on the intersections of art, culture, design, and everyday life.
Welcome to Petey Art.
I'm glad our paths have crossed.

Very surreal collection. The intrigue capture by the canvas is remarkable.
